Joint School Representatives Attend First UESTC Workshop on Student Affairs

On November 18th, the first UESTC Workshop on Student Affairs of Sino-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools hosted by UoG-UESTC Joint School was held at the activity center of Qingshuihe Campus. 35 representatives from 20 joint schools/institutions were present at the workshop. Ms. Zhang Xiaoyun, student counselor of SWJTU-Leeds Joint School and Mr. Yang Rushuai, officer from Administrative Support Center attended the workshop on behalf of SWJTU-Leeds Joint School.

The workshop started at 10:00am with address from Prof. Shen Xiaorong, Vice-Secretary, CPC Committee, UESTC. She expressed her sincere welcome to the representatives and briefly introduced the history and student affairs in UESTC.

Mr. Tian Bozhi from International School, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Mr. Lu Yuan from Surrey International Institute at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, Mr. Wu Minglong from SHU-UTS SILC Business School and Ms. He Qilei, Deputy Secretary of CPC Branch delivered keynote speeches.

In the afternoon, representatives communicated with each other on language improvement, acclimation to the learning environment, Party construction etc. in three groups.

Ms. Tan Lingling, Vice Secretary of CPC Branch, Westa College, Southwest University, Mr. Li Zhenyi, Vice Dean of Sino-British College, Guangxi University for Nationalities, and Mr. Yang Zhangcheng, Vice Secretary of CPC Branch, International Educational College, Guangxi University of Science and Technology summarized the discussion in the three groups.

At the end of the closing ceremony, Mr. Gao Shiquan, Secretary of CPC Branch, UoG-UESTC Joint School expressed his gratitude to all representatives, speaking highly of the fruitful results in this workshop. He invited all representatives to meet in Chengdu next year.

During the workshop, representatives visited the Student Activity Center, laboratories and other facilities.
