Students at the SWJTU-Leeds Joint School can transfer to Leeds and complete the final two years (so-called 2+2) or final year (so-called 3+1) of their studies at the University of Leeds. Students can transfer to one of the following programmes at Leeds:
BEng Civil Engineering with Transport
BSc Computer Science
BEng Electronic and Electrical Engineering
BEng Mechanical Engineering
If a student chooses to transfer to Leeds at the beginning of Year 3, it is not possible to transfer back to the Joint School for the final year of study. The remainder of their studies must be spent in Leeds.
Places Available
A maximum of 25% of each cohort of students can take up study at the University of Leeds. The number of places available are split equally between the four programmes of study. However, in cases where the quota on any of the programmes is not reached, the other programmes may offer more places, which could be allocated considering a balanced distribution of students on individual programmes.
Criteria for Transfer
Students who wish to transfer to the University of Leeds for the beginning of Year 3 (Level 2) must pass all Leeds Year 2 (Level 1) modules and SWJTU Year 2 modules at the first attempt, and have passed all modules from Year 1.
Students who wish to transfer to the University of Leeds for the beginning of Year 4 (Level 3) must pass all Leeds Year 3 (Level 2) modules and SWJTU Year 3 modules at the first attempt, and have passed all modules from Years 1 and 2.
Places are given based on academic achievement. The students with the best year average marks at the end of Year 2 or Year 3 (depending on point of entry) will be selected. Only marks from the Leeds modules will be considered.

Tuition fees is charged at the standard University of Leeds rate for international students plus a 10% discount. Fees for each programme are published on the University of Leeds website.
