| Personal information: I have been teaching English in higher education institutions for over 25 years In Poland, Oman, the UK and China. I have worked at the Language Centre at Leeds since 2015, full time since 2021, as a lecturer in English for Academic Purposes. I teach pre- and in- sessional courses and I am also involved with the Leeds University- SWJTU Joint School in China since 2017, where I teach English for Engineering. I especially like my work in SWJTU as teaching Chinese teachers is really rewarding. They work hard, are very able and please to teach. Since 2017, I have seen many of them graduate and some came to Leeds University to do their Mas with excellent results. My current scholarship interests concern neuro-diversity in student education, in particular the experiences and need of students with ADHD. I am also interested in dialogic feedback.
Motto: Teaching to the best of my ability making students curious and passionate about obtaining knowledge and using it in real life situations to succeed.

Reflections on the Joined School and Life in Chengdu:
SWJTU-Leeds University Joint School offers a unique opportunity and experience for both lecturers and students, and all of them can attest to that. Beyond academic studies, campus is beautiful—perfect for relaxing by the lake or cycling around. The university also offers a wide range of sports activities to participate in.
There are many community-building experiences, such as cultural events, talent shows, and sport days. I took part in several talent shows and even acted in a student-written play. Since the play was in Chinese, my performance—though just a few lines—was also in Chinese! I also had the chance to wear a beautiful traditional Chinese costume.
Chengdu itself has so much to offer both visitors and locals, from its delicious cuisine to its stunning sights. I was fortunate to visit the Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding several times and even saw baby pandas! I also spent a day in Leshan to see the 71-meter-tall Buddha carved into the rock, and I climbed both Mount Emei and Mount Qingcheng—both absolutely breathtaking!
