On September 25th, a series of programme inductions for the cohort of 2025 at the Joint School were held.

Civil Engineering with Transport

Dariusz Wanatowiski, pro-dean of the Joint School, systematically introduced the civil engineering programme at UoL, its wide applications in daily life, and its industrial prospects.

Ding Haibo, programme secretary, focused on the history and scientific research platforms of SWJTU’s civil engineering programme.

Mechanical Engineering

Man Zhang, on behalf Programme Director Qing'en Meng, introduced the mechanical engineering programme at UoL and its progression rules.

Tian Huaiwen, deputy programme director, introduced the mechanical programme’s specification and modern mechanical development.

Electronic and Electrical Engineering

Zhaopeng Zhang, programme director, shared the beautiful scenery of UoL and the relevant information about the EE programme with students via video.

Huang Deqing, deputy programme director, introduced the programme’s achievements in recent years and encouraged students to make early plans for their studies and future.

Computer Science

Samson Fabiyi, on behalf of Programme Director Zheng Wang, gave a detailed introduction to the curriculum of the computer programme and the relevant rules and regulations of the UoL.

Xing Huanlai, programme secretary, introduced the development history of SWJTU’s computer science programme and discussed with the students some hot topics like artificial intelligence (AI) and big data models.

Materials Science and Engineering

Zhilun Lu, programme director, gave a detailed introduction of the programme specification, emphasizing that as an important interdisciplinary field, the materials programme is indispensable for the development of various fields and has broad prospects.

Jiang Xiaosong, deputy programme director, warmly welcomed the arrival of the materials programme students and introduced the advantages and prospects of the programme.

Chemical Technologies

Dmitry Shalashilin, programme director, introduced the programme to students via video. Joanne Shiel, director of year one, supplemented explanations and answered questions about the details in the video presentation.

Yang Jinghui, programme secretary, introdued the programme's specification, its development prospects and the teaching team.

Product Design

Rafeeq Chaudhry, programme director, introduced the basic programme information via video. Joanne Shiel, director of year one, gave supplementary explanations focusing on the key information in the video.

Du Jun, programme secretary, gave a detailed introduction from multiple dimensions, covering aspects such as programme specification and programme development.
