Date:2022-10-26   Edited By:ASO

From October 20 to 24, SWJTU-Leeds Joint School offered training on two topics to the teaching assistants for Academic Year 2022-2023 in X30517 and X30521, and over one hundred assistants attended.

Jiuwen Jiang, CPC Secretary General of the Joint School, introduced the “TAFSS” (Acronym for Tutor, Assistant, Fudaoyuan, Staff, and Student), the five-sphere academic supporting system, commended on the contributions made by the assistants, and encouraged them to fulfill their responsibilities and duties in the implementation of “Three-dimension Teaching Scheme” (the scheme of all-staff education, whole-process education and all-round education) at the Joint School, and to develop themselves as well.

Tao Huang, Vice Dean of the School, elaborated on the Regulations for the Management of Teaching Assistants at SWJTU-Leeds Joint School, made clarifications on the assistants’ responsibilities, and emphasized that they should heighten the awareness of professional ethics of teachers and observe the norms.

In the professional training, Dariusz Wanatowski, Pro Dean of the Joint School, hosted the discussions on course grading, experiment guidance and other work. Some reserve teachers also participated in the training. Through immersive learning, the trainees were further acquainted with the teaching mode of the Joint School and the basic points in the accomplishment of their tasks.

After the training, all the teaching assistants had fully understood their responsibilities and duties, familiarized themselves with the rules and regulations, and developed a good sense of teacher’s professional ethics and conduct. They would soon engage wholeheartedly in the teaching.
