Date:2023-03-29   Edited By:ASO

On March 28, 2023, the Joint School conducted a routine meeting of Deputy Programme Directors, which was presided over by Deputy Dean Zhao Duo and Zhu Yan. Attendees included Deputy Programme Directors Chen Rong, Huang Deqing, Tian Huaiwen, Yang Yan, Director of the Language Centre Yi Hong, Deputy Director of Year One Shen Yixin, Programme Secretaries Ding Haibo, Qin Na (ME), Qin Na (EE), Xing Huanlai, and Luo Zhipeng. All Teaching Support Office staff attended the meeting as observers.

The conference was divided into three main sections: a recent work report, a discussion on teaching-related work, and a discussion on teacher-related work. Zhao Duo began by reporting on the module evaluation work and student final projects, providing insight for future arrangements.

During the teaching-related discussion, the attendees talked about the SWJTU short-term project for the academic year 2022-2023 and how to improve it. They also discussed teaching operations for the post-pandemic era (academic year 2023-2024) including joint teaching with UoL, and proposed considering student needs, setting courses reasonably, and adjusting methods flexibly. They also discussed revisions to the assessment plans for teaching assistants and personal tutors, setting clear goals and measures.

During the staff-related discussion, Zhu Yan led a thorough conversation about teaching workload requirements and assessment plans for "Young Talent" professors/associate professors at the Joint School. The group also discussed the launch of CPD training, arrangements for seminars on teaching, and review and storage of teaching aids. Various professional opinions were fully solicited and solutions were sought.
