The Joint School Starts Teaching for the New Semester

On September 4, 2023, the SWJTU-Leeds Joint School commenced the first semester of the 2023-2024 academic year with in-person teaching, offering students a distinctive learning experience. Prof. Jiuwen JIANG, Party secretary of the Joint School and Prof. Tao HUANG, deputy Party secretary, along with TSO and SSO staff members, visited the initial lectures. The teachers were well-prepared and enthusiastic, and the students, excited and highly motivated, presenting a well-organized teaching environment for the successful start of the new semester.

Some 49 Leeds staff members will be working in Chengdu this semester. Hopefully, they’ll enjoy an exceptional teaching experience in the Joint school and the students, through their diligent study, achieve a satisfactory academic results as a new starting point.

Martin Levesley, programme director of Mechanical Engineering, teaches "Vibration and Control".

Justin Gallagher, teaching fellow of Mechanical Engineering Programme, teaches "Computers in Engineering Analysis".

Wenyuan SHI, associate professor of Electronic and Electrical Engineering Programme, teaches "Transistors and Optoelectronic Devices".

John G. Stell, programme director of Computer Science, teaches "Fundamental Mathematical Concepts".

Jie XU, professor of Computer Science Programme, teaches "Operating Systems".
