On the afternoon of 7th September, the Material Science and Engineering programme of the Joint School held its first teaching workshop for the first semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. Andrew Bell, program director, Xiaosong Jiang, deputy program director, Song Zhang, program secretary, Yan Zhu, deputy dean of the Joint School, teachers of Year One modules and members of the Teaching Support Office participated in the workshop.
Suggestions were discussed in the workshop on how to help first-year students quickly adapt to college life and the English language teaching model, and on how to help students to master learning methods, improve their English writing and communication skills, andreformation of the assessment and examination models.
